CHINESE BRUSH PAINTERS attach great importance to realism and accuracy of detail. Yet the realities of
science (light source, space and time) come second to the requirement of artistic expression.
Topics/techniques to be covered:
- Brush technique gives rhythm & beauty
- Using ink and the ink cake
- Chinese paper: rice & silk
- Painting grapes, plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums, bamboo pines, flower-pecking birds and Mandarin ducks

instructor.

Pro black ink
Pro white ink
Calligraphy ink - non-waterproof
Dick Blick 12 tube set of watercolors

A "starter kit" for beginners is available for $40 and contains everything needed to complete the class.
Starter kit may be paid for at the Art-A-Fair sales booth.

About KC Horng
KC was born in China, educated through university in Taiwan and completed diploma training in western art at Singapore
Nanyang Arts Academy, 1999-2002. After retirement from the Nation University of Singapore in 2004, she immigrated to the
United States and has continued her studies following masters Lan Huang and Steve Wang. KC has participated in local and
international exhibitions, winning may awards. Her art is on permanent display in the Fuzhou Arts Museum.
