I have loved art of all kinds for as long as I can remember. While growing up, I was always drawing or painting something.
The subjects of my paintings range from California landscapes and garden scenes to felines. I am inspired by the beautiful beaches, rolling hills, canyons, and mountains of California; no other area can compare to what we have in our own “back yards”. The natural beauty and variety is endless. I want my paintings to reflect the beauty of God’s wonderful creation; beautiful and peaceful places where the viewer would like to be.
My inspiration for painting cats and kittens come from the enjoyment I have from sharing my home with them. Over the years we have taken in several stray cats that are just looking for a home and someone to love and take care of them. They have given me a variety of “models” to paint from; each one has their own individual personality.
I have attended classes and workshops given by many respected artists in the local area. While I have worked with oils, acrylics, pastels, and even sculpture, my favorite media is watercolor. Watercolors keep me on a constant learning curve; I am always trying new techniques I can bring to my paintings. I have discovered watercolor canvas that I have enjoyed working on. While still working with watercolor, it has a completely different look.
This summer is my 25th year as an exhibiting member of Art-A-Fair in Laguna Beach. I am also a member of the Saddleback Art League. My work has also been featured in the Fine Art Gallery in Rancho Santa Margarita and the Costa Mesa Art Association Gallery.
I am thankful to the Lord for His generous gift of my artistic ability. My desire is to glorify Him in all my paintings. Whenever someone selects one of my paintings for their home or office, I feel so blessed.
