Luis and Clara Gac Tapia studied painting and ceramics in Chile, Argentina, and in the United States, and graduated from the University of Chile with a degree in Art. They have been working with ceramics for over 30 years. In 1982 Clara began working exclusively with porcelain, making small brooches, dolls and other pieces of jewelry. Every design is luscious in colors, glazes, and fine china paints. She continues to work with porcelain making figurines and flowers.
Luis also works with ceramics, charcoal and color pencil drawings. They have participated in numerous art shows and received several awards in ceramics, color pencils and charcoal drawing, in contests throughout Cypress, Lakewood, Mission Viejo, Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga. Luis also received the Judge’s Award with one of his charcoal drawings at Lakewood Artists Guild in 2013 Fall Show. Clara is currently an art teacher for elementary and junior high students at San Gabriel Academy School. 2014 will be their 4th year in Laguna Art-A-Fair show.
