Having come from an artistic family, Susan Leonhard considers herself to be a self-taught artist with the benefit of creative genes. She began oil painting at age 10 and has worked on her creative journey for more than 35 years. Susan grew up in Shadow Hills, California, where rural landscapes are abundant and have always been her greatest inspiration. In recent years, Susan has taken a more contemporary direction, working on her series of large paintings featuring the serenity of the underwater.
Susan’s paintings are currently sold in The Artist Eye Gallery in Laguna Beach, Artisan Gallery in Mission Viejo and The Gray Matter Museum and Gallery in Costa Mesa. Her paintings have been featured in publications such as, “The Art Lover’s Cookbook,” “Gladys” magazine and “The Creative Way.”
She is proud to have several collectors, including the hospital where she was born, St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank. She also enjoys demonstrating painting at corporate events and one-man exhibits at the Anaheim Hilton, Montage Hotel & St. Regis Hotel in Laguna Beach and working with charities such as Art & Creativity For Healing and the MS Society.
Susan participates in yearly exhibits including the Balboa Artwalk, Irvine Studio Arts, Beverly Hills Affaire In The Gardens and Art-A-Fair exhibits.
