Painting has always been on my bucket list and I am finally pursuing my passion full time!
I was raised in Quebec City, Canada, the birth place of Cirque Du Soleil. It is a fertile ground for artists and I grew up with a talent and a desire to refine it. As a teenager I was the only underage student to study at the Sylvia Araya Painting Academy in Quebec City, and I loved it. I learned to deconstruct color and build it again layer by layer.
Studied jewelry making and moved to Toronto to obtain my Graduate Goldsmith diploma at George Brown College. From there, I worked at several premiere jewelers first as jewelry designer and then in sales. My family life took me from Toronto to Boston to finally settle in Southern California with my husband and two boys.
A few years ago my youngest son took a picture of a lovely bird at the Cincinnati Zoo and I became obsessed with painting it over and over again. I think I painted it 5 times!
Then a friend of mine sent me a picture of a dog that resonated with me- I had to paint it! That was the beginning of this journey, in which I discovered my love for painting dogs, birds, cars and children.
I paint the eyes of my subject as the jewels of the painting, they reflect the unconditional love, curiosity and quirk of every loving soul. My preferred media is Acrylic and Mixed media.
Was showing at the Art-A-Fair as part of Festival of the Arts in Laguna Beach California, summer 2015. I am honored to participate again in 2019
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy the creative process!
