As an emerging artist, I am so blessed and excited to be able to capture my love of the land and sea through my oil paintings. There is nowhere on earth that I would rather be than in the beauty of Southern California and the incredible views and cities along the Pacific Ocean coastline.
My earliest interest in oil painting was born from an artist in San Antonio Texas. His name was Jose Vives-Atsara who was originally from Spain, but settled down in Texas where he lived for the last years of his life. His vibrant oil paintings are described as both realistic and impressionistic. He used only nine colors, mixing his paints with incredible skill. He believed that art is a reflection of the artist’s soul and his must have been beautiful and bright.
As an artist, we are inspired in so many ways. For me it was seeing the sky and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Translating these into paintings is my continued interest and goal as an artist.
