About Laura Berry L. A. Berry is a self-taught artist who has worked in colored pencil for over twenty years. Vibrant colors and detail abound in Berry's art. Whimsical animals and fantasy prevail in her light-hearted works, side by side with stunning realistic portraits of people and animals. After many studies to get just the right design, the finished piece may then take up to one hundred hours to complete. The color is applied in light layers and any single part of the composition may consist of up to as many as ten colors. The benefit of working in this fashion is the ability to retain luminosity through the application of these layers and yet allow for the most minute of detail. Berry is represented by Framing Artistry Gallery, Mission Viejo, California. Additionally, her works have been licensed by several top manufacturers on products such as wearables, clocks, figurines and more. She is currently writing and illustrating a set of children's story books featuring her "Lowland Dragon" characters.
