FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 13, 2011 – Laguna Beach, California – Art-A-Fair, the finer arts festival of Laguna Beach, begins its 45th season on June 24 and runs through August 28. Celebrating its 45th anniversary, the show will exhibit fine art from 125 international, national and local artists and master craftsmen.

More than a premier art festival, Art-A-Fair will also feature daily art workshops taught by professional, juried artists, live entertainment, and special activities to celebrate Art-A-Fair’s 45th anniversary. Admission to Art-A-Fair is just $7 for adults, which serves as a season pass – a real entertainment value! Visit Art-A-Fair on July 4th to take advantage of the show’s Customer Appreciation Day and receive complimentary admission.

Art-A-Fair’s reputation for exhibiting exceptional art from around the world is renowned. It is the only one of the three Laguna Beach art festivals to exhibit international and national art. Selected by a jury for excellence in concept, execution, and presentation as well as a high level of creativity and technical skill, the 2011 collection promises a remarkable experience for visitors and patrons of the arts. Guests are invited to walk among the artists, converse with them, and experience their artistic passion firsthand as they work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, ceramics, glass, jewelry, photography, fiber arts and wood.

Daily Art Workshops

Responding to overwhelming requests from local and visiting artists to expand its art workshops curriculum, this season Art-A-Fair’s juried artists will share their skills teaching watercolor on yupo, collage, watercolor, classic beading, oil and palette knife, traditional oil, acrylic, and Chinese brush painting. Beginning Saturday, June 25, workshops will be offered seven days a week, with a different medium taught each day to adults 16 years and older with beginning to intermediate skill levels. Workshops are just $30 for two hours and $45 for four hours; registration will take place on Art-A-Fair grounds or by calling 949.494.4514. Complimentary workshops will be offered on Saturday and Sunday throughout the season for beginners of all ages.

Arty Commemorates Art-A-Fair’s 45th Anniversary

In celebration of Art-A-Fair’s 45th Anniversary, visitors will want to meet Arty, who joins the show for this year only. While viewing exhibited art, see if you can find Arty, a fun-loving character who will be hidden daily on the grounds. Once a day, the lucky guest who spies Arty and takes him to the sales booth will win a prize provided by Art-A-Fair’s renowned artists. Visit the sales booth to see what Arty looks like before beginning your search. Additional anniversary events will be held throughout the summer season.

Meet Art-A-Fair’s Artists

Loyal Art-A-Fair friends will be happy to know that Austrian-born, fine jewelry artist Victor Dworak returns to exhibit his exquisite jewelry. Traveling around the world throughout the year to secure precious gems and for design inspiration, Dworak’s reputation for his work precedes him. Each piece of Dworak’s collection is one of a kind. An engineer by profession and jewelry artist by passion, Dworak has received a multitude of awards for his fine jewelry designs.

Photography artist Linda Berman is among the 23 new artists selected for the 2011 show. Specializing in travel photography for 15 years, Berman changed her focus to the Car Culture two years ago and hasn’t looked back. Berman’s photography on metal art is distinguished by awards from the Professional Photographers of America and California and the 2011 Kodak Silver Bullet Award, among others.

“Our 2011 collection of juried art by our membership of 125 artists promises to be extraordinary. We are very excited for Art-A-Fair guests to experience it firsthand,” said Joyce Kasprzyk, Vice President Marketing.
